A Colina Atlântica is located in the green
hills of the Estremadura region on the Costa
da Prata (Silver Coast) It is only 5 miles
to the ocean. Lisbon the capital of Portugal
is about 60 miles to the south.
Route with own car:
From airport Lisbon to "A1 Norte".
After a few kms take direction "Ponte Vasco
da Gama", (Pte. V. Gama) keep left, follow
"outras direcçoes", follow "IC 17", past the
tunnel follow "A8 Loures", "Torres Vedras".
This is a toll road. Follow the A8 direction
Caldas da Rainha and take exit 20 Tornada.
On the roundabout turn right at the first
lights in Tornada, go right, direction
"Barrantes". Follow this road passing under
the highway, then the road will go up to
Barrantes when you arrive in the village
pass it until coming to a V split, keep left
on the split. After 150 m. right, follow
this path ± 50m and see the house on the
left, "Quinta das Maças".
From the north take "A-1"direction "Coimbra-
Leiria" at Leiria take direction "Marinha
Grande" and follow "A8" to Caldas da Rainha,
take this tolroad till exit "Tornada" (Saida
20), from here pick up from exit 20 as
described above.
Public transportation:
Lissabon-Caldas da Rainha
Take a taxi to bus station sete rios and buy
a ticket (Rede Expressos) to Caldas da
Rainha. From there take a taxi to "Quinta
das Maças" in Barrantes.
If it is, due to late flight times,
impossible to take a bus, we can arrange for
a taxi, (costs around € 95,-) or a night
over in Lisbon.
